So I figured I might as well update this for the first time in months. So, what's new in my life? I'm still working at superstore, I've been single for a few months, I finished my History class with a B+, which now allows me, as of the day I completed that course, to start registering for psych courses at UVic. 'cause I'm now a 3rd year psychology student at UVic. *squees* I'm on my way to that law degree. Slowly, but I'm on my way...

Are we failing our geniuses? - Something Ayn Rand would love... and it's pretty true.

alright, that's some good news, i know you'll like UVic, for some reason i was recently thinking of how fun a trip back to victoria would be :D. Still at Superstore eh? What happened to Meghan? Still hanging out with Larissa and is she transferring to UVic? Any new brews to report? I managed to find some Lambic beers at the grocery store near my apt in birmingham, crazy I know. Hope the summer heat isn't getting to you. here in alabama my car read 107 outside the other day (that's 41.5 celsius for you canadians)

It'd be great, I mean Aubz has been getting great product and Campy has been able to meet up with Fox, so we can get primo. Not to mention I might be moving out in Feb or March with any luck. Also campy and I will be starting up a little homebrewery operation with any luck. Mmm, homemade beer. *hearts*

Still at Superstore, yes, but even though I'm only getting paid the same rate as most union employees there I've got the same power as the supervisors there, which is nice. Only one of three people in the store that has that power. =P

Megan... well... her and I just parted ways. Still trying to keep intouch as friends, etc. but that hasn't worked. Just to give you an idea of how great my love life is, well, other than Etchy (yes, a furry, from Alberta... currently going out with her) it's like my life's a The Smiths/Morrissey song (speaking of which, I need to send you Yessongs if you haven't heard that live album, it's really good).

Larissa, not sure about school but she should be back in town any day soon.

Brews to report... St. Ambroise has come out with a blonde ale out here, it's HORRID. It's like... infected with yeast, I almost puked after having one. Over about an hour period. Chimay Blue is still my favourite. Phillips has come out again with the Surly Blonde so I've been hording that whenever I've come across it. They've also released a raspberry wheat beer which doesn't taste great.

I also found 4 bottles in the wine cellar of the Mort Subite. It gets better with age. The bitterness is removed, and it's taste, aroma, etc. is brought out a lot more just by letting it age for 3 months. They've become available at the LCB stores here, same with the Raspberry Mort Subite which is a nice change from the regular ones. Spinnakers came out with some Titanic themed beers, all of which are great. There's also the Chimay white label which has been made available in limited numbers out here. Imagine a Chimay Blue IPA. That's about the best way I can describe it. It's something I could see you using when cooking, but not in any other situation. I'll still stick with the blue label.

Well, with any luck I'll be able to take that Chris character out of his #1 seat at the UVic poker tourney. At the 6 Mile recently, it was a sick situation though. Within 20 minutes of the start of the finals this time around, here's what our table looked like. And all these were all in bets:

Me: AK suited
Dad: AK suited
Other: KQ offsuit (he started the all in bets)
Other: JJ (called)

Flop came up T Q K (rainbow, only my dad had a chance of hitting a flush), turn came up a 6 (removing my dad's flush opportunity), and the river, came up a J. So 3 of us managed to get knocked out, and we all had great hands. Was surprised no one had pocket rockets at that point.

Wow, lucky Js. If only I could find Chimay Blue down here. There's a few breweries in Georgia that produce fine beers, but Alabama is one of the few states with a alc % cap, so no beers with more that 6% alc can be sold in AL :(. It's so crazy that now I have to join the Free the Hops Federation to work on changing the beer laws. Good luck at poker, I was once your poker mentor and you my padawan, but now you are becoming a hold 'em jedi yourself, just beware the dark side.

Only stuck with Chimay red label? That's just... well... it's ok, but not as good as blue. And yes, beware the dark side... even though evil is appealing, their health care program sucks.
